GDS-70.JPGRounds landing76 viewsIf you look closely, you can see where the rounds were landing (smoke on the horizon). A/1/35 was "in contact" about 3 clicks from the battery position. A very rare occasion to see your rounds exploding downrange.

GDS-112.JPGLZ 510B76 viewsThe trash sump at LZ 510B. Good place for "Charlie" to hide unexploded AF ordnance as a booby trap. Good reason not to re-occupy an LZ or have it swept first.

Crossing_the_street.jpgVietnam: 2012 visit76 viewsCrossing the street: This is the correct way to cross the street in Saigon (now called Ho Chi Minh City). Look straight ahead and keep moving. Don't stop or make any sudden movements, and all those vehicles WILL miss you. It takes a little time to get used to it, and a lot of faith, but it works. I think the Vietnamese have only one traffic rule: Try not to run over the tourists.
