Tex_6-1.JPGOut of uniform?227 viewsYou won't find this method of showering in Ft Sill's FM 6-40. Hanging a water can to the end of the howitzer tube is strictly an improvisation. They would have to add another Chapter.

SG-11.JPGNothing grows on LZ Incoming?227 viewsThis is a "gook's view" of LZ Incoming from the south. I braved the snipers & mortars to get water from the big bladder that was sitting out about 200ft out of the perimeter. Anyone wonder why there was NOT a stick of vegetation on this firebase? "Orange"-something ring a bell?

DP8a.JPGR-Sopping again226 viewsSpring, 1968. Moving again, from LZ Baldy to the south of LZ English, by convoy. Time here had been hectic. Not only were we shelled frequently during the TET offensive, but so were the field units. We frequently fired illumination rds all night. Viet Army compound at Hoi An was overrun by the NVA, but was saved by our all-night pinpoint shelling.
