Key_Gate.JPGGuarding The Gate114 viewsWell, Gents, the 105mm howitzer, M101A1, has remained here as the "gate guardian" at Ft. Sill for over 50 years!

Welcome Home, Brothers! It's been a long, long time.

WTC-5.JPGReunion Photos - Wayne Crochet114 viewsWayne found another "old buddy"...a mechanical one, at least. This is the old FADAC computer; the artillery's first attempt to computerize the Fire Direction Center (FDC). However, even in 2013, they are using 60s-era firing charts complete with RDP out in the field.

DY-12.jpgReunion Photos - Danny Yates113 viewsFt Sill's warfare training includes urban-warfare based scenarios as our Instructor guides through a mock-up building. This whole training format used highly technical Hollywood-like sound stages with several technicians behind the scenes to manipulate the settings.

DY-13.jpgReunion Photos - Danny Yates113 viewsGiving it the ol' "heave-ho". During our basic training orientation of new soldiers on the record hand-grenade course on Thursday morning, the "old soldiers" were invited to try their hand at it. The tennis-ball size training grenades contained a primer only and usually rolled a few feet after tossing...then you heard a "pop".
